Biografia
Electric Swan è nato come progetto solista di Lucio Calegari,
chitarrista e membro fondatore della storica hard rock band
Wicked Minds attiva dagli anni ’80 e prodotta a partire dal 2004
dalla label genovese Black Widow.
Nel 2008 incide il primo album omonimo per Bad Chili Records,
ma ben presto il progetto si trasforma in una band vera e
propria e ha l’opportunità di suonare in diversi festivals in
Germania, Francia e Svizzera.
Nel 2012 esce per Black Widow l’album “Swirl in Gravity” con la
collaborazione di Clive Jones, flautista inglese recentemente
scomparso.
Il gruppo acquisisce stabilità nel 2015, dopo diversi cambi di
sezione ritmica. Nel 2017 esce sempre per l’etichetta genovese
il terzo album, “Windblown”; la band partecipa altresì al tributo
a David Bowie e Marc Bolan “A Tribute to the Madmen” con la
cover “Midnight” dei T-Rex, ancora edito da Black Widow.
Con l’ultimo disco, il sound della band, ancorato a solide basi
rock ’70 in cui sono ben presenti influenze zeppeliniane e
hendrixiane, si arricchisce di accenni funky e blues.
Nel 2018 continua la promozione di Windblown con diverse date
all’estero; in particolare con la partecipazione al prestigioso
Crescendo Festival a Saint-Palais-sur-le mer, Francia, e al
German Kultrock Festival a Balve, Germania.
In progetto la registrazione di un nuovo album con nuovo
materiale e con l’aggiunta di alcune canzoni contenute nel primo
lp, che verranno riarrangiate per dar loro una nuova luce.
Electric Swan was born as solo project of Lucio Calegari,
guitarist and founding member of the historical hard rock band
Wicked Minds, which has released its records since 2004 for the
Italian label "Black Widow Records".
The project Electric Swan was born in 2008, with the release of
the homonymous album released by Bad Chili Records.
Soon, the project turned into a band, who played at several festi-
vals abroad.
In 2012, second studio album “Swirl in Gravity” has been relea-
sed by Black Widow Records, with the collaboration of Clive
Jones, flautist of 70’s English cult band Black Widow, who
recently passed away.
During those years, Electric Swan has been formed by different
musicians, finally achieving a stable line up in 2015.
In 2017 Black Widow Records relases their third studio album
called “Windblown”, while the band takes part to a tribute album
to David Bowie and Marc Bolan (“A Tribute to the Madmen”) with
T-Rex’s cover “Midnight”.
In the latest work their sound, founded on solid hard rock ’70
bases and influenced by Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix, is being
enriched by a touch of funky and blues accents.
Windblown is hyped on 2018 playing abroad at several gigs; in
particular at prestigious Crescendo Festival
(Saint-Palais-sur-le mer, France) and at German Kultrock Festival
(Balve, Germany).
Next step will be recording a new album with new stuff and with
the addition of some songs taken from the first lp, in order to
give them a new light.
